New online tool helps expats enter Canada

An online tool has been created by the Canadian government to help prospective immigrants apply to enter Canada.

The web tool, dubbed the Come to Canada Wizard, is said to have had around 400,000 visits since its introduction in August. The tool establishes the easiest route of application for the individual via a series of questions. It then takes them to the federal immigration option best suited to their individual situation. It then takes the prospective applicant page that simplifies the actual form.

Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney, said: “This is one way that my department is creating a more responsive, transparent and efficient immigration system that benefits applicant, immigrants and Canadians alike.

So far the tool has been met with praise, comments on the system include:

“The Come to Canada Wizard is simple, concise and self explanatory. I would certainly recommend it to others.”

“Steps are easy to follow and understand. In 15 minutes I understood whether I was eligible to apply to come to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Programme.”
